Over the past decade, Home Helpers of Little Rock has served the home care needs of many veterans.

As a veteran myself, it’s always a little humbling to get to play a role in empowering a veteran to remain in their home as opposed to relocating to an institutional setting.

Hands1The services provided could include everything from meal preparation and light housekeeping, to assistance with baths and transportation to medication appointments, to medication reminders and assistance dressing or transferring.

Many of the veterans we have served pay for home care services out-of-pocket. We serve per their desired schedule and then invoice every two weeks and they pay through auto-drafts.

We’ve also served a great number of veterans who have similar needs but simply do not have the financial wherewithal to pay for home care services. In some of these cases, the only thing standing in the way of relocating from their home to an institutional setting is a little assistance.

In those cases, we help the veteran obtain a remarkable benefit from the VA – Aid and Attendance Pension – that pays for home care services.

Eligibility requirements for Aid and Attendance include:

  • 90 days or more of active duty, with at least one day of service during a wartime period
  • Must have a medical condition which requires assistance with activities of daily living that is not related to military service
  • Meet income-to-medical expense ratio, and
  • Must meet asset requirement

If you or someone you know in or around Little Rock meets these eligibility requirements, please allow me to at least come and talk with them. It very literally could be the difference between staying in their home or having to relocate to a facility.

If you’d like to know if you might qualify, you can call me direct at my office in Little Rock and we’ll go through a screening process and I can submit it that day. I can’t promise and I certainly can’t guarantee that you’ll qualify, but we won’t know if we don’t submit the screening information.

So, either submit the contact form below or call me at (501) 663-3900 and let’s talk.
