Home care on Long Beach Island, NJ
Caregivers for year-round island residents, from Barnegat Light down to Beach Haven, who help your loved one stay at home through every season.
Living year round on the island
Long Beach Island is a different place after Labor Day. Neighbors leave, the shops slow down and an older parent living here year round can go days without much company. Our caregivers change that. They come to the house for bathing, dressing and meals, handle the laundry and light housekeeping, and bring real conversation to the quiet months.
They can also keep your loved one part of island life, with a class or an exhibit at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences in Loveladies. We match every caregiver to your loved one's personality and pace, and the same person keeps coming back, which matters a great deal to families who live far away.
Over the causeway and back home
Island families most often come home from Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, sometimes after a rehab stay at Southern Ocean Center on Route 72. A caregiver can be there when your loved one arrives, help with the climb up to a raised front door, go over the discharge instructions and keep medication reminders on schedule.
In home care on Long Beach Island can be a few hours a week, overnight or live-in. A person you can talk to is on our phone around the clock, all year, and our caregivers are certified home health aides we treat like family. Senior care on Long Beach Island starts with a free in-home assessment.
A full week in the quiet months
A winter day on Long Beach Island can start slowly, with help in the shower, a warm breakfast and the morning paper read out loud. Later, a caregiver drives out for groceries and a stop for prescriptions, then puts everything away and starts a load of towels before dinner. Small routines like these keep a quiet house running well.
There is more company in the off season than it first appears. The St. Francis Community Center on the island offers senior services, and with companion care your loved one has a ride to a program there and someone to bring them home afterward. On Sundays, the same caregiver can help your mom dress for church and walk her in from the car.
Recovery after a hospital stay may take a few weeks of short walks and steady meals, and in home care on Long Beach Island can grow or shrink with that recovery. For grown children who live far from the shore, our Ocean County office passes along what the week held, so a call home can be about news instead of worry.

What's the difference between home care and home health care?
Home care, also called non medical home care, helps your loved one with everyday activities so they can stay safe and comfortable at home. A trained caregiver or home health aide assists with personal care like bathing, dressing, and toileting, along with daily tasks such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, and companionship.
Home health care is skilled medical care provided by a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN). It covers clinical tasks that require a nurse's oversight, such as IV therapy, wound care, and medication administration. Home health care is usually ordered by a doctor for a set period of time, often after a hospital stay.
Many families use both, with home care filling in the daily support between skilled nursing visits.
How quickly can care start?
In urgent situations, we can often start care the same day. For most families, care begins within one to two days. That gives us time to complete your free in home assessment, create a custom care plan for your loved one, and carefully match them with the right caregiver. We move quickly without cutting corners, because your loved one's safety and comfort always come first.
What happens during the free in home assessment?
During the free in home assessment, we take the time to get to know your loved one and your family, including their daily routines, preferences, and what matters most to them. We also complete a home safety assessment and share any recommendations to help prevent falls and make the home safer, at no charge. From there, we create a custom care plan and help you decide on the home care options and schedule that best fit your loved one's needs.
Will my loved one have the same caregiver each time?
We always do our best to keep the same caregiver with your loved one, and we note your preferences so every visit feels familiar and comfortable. Thanks to our low caregiver turnover and excellent training, most of our clients see the same friendly faces week after week. Of course, caregivers need time off and get sick sometimes too. When that happens, we let you know right away and send a wonderful, fully trained replacement who is already familiar with your loved one's care plan. That's the benefit of working with an agency. You're never left without help.
How much does home care cost?
The cost of in home care depends on several things, including where your loved one lives, how many hours of care they need, how often visits are scheduled, and the type of care required. Because every family's situation is different, the best way to get an accurate price is through our free in home assessment. There's no obligation, and we'll create a care plan that fits your loved one's needs. You'll always have a clear, written estimate before care begins, with no surprises.
How do I reach someone after hours or on weekends?
We're available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Just call our main office number and ask to speak with someone. A real person from our team will help you right away, whether it's a schedule change, a question, or an unexpected situation. We're always here for you.
