What 32082 Covers, and Why It Runs Older
ZIP 32082 is the Postal Service’s Ponte Vedra Beach: Sawgrass and the TPC Sawgrass grounds on Championship Way, Old Ponte Vedra and Marsh Landing, Palm Valley, the houses along Ponte Vedra Boulevard and A1A, and South Ponte Vedra Beach farther down the coast. None of it is a city. It is all unincorporated St. Johns County, and the Census Bureau’s place names do not match the local ones (TPC Sawgrass and Vicar’s Landing both sit inside what the Census calls Palm Valley), so the figures below are for ZIP 32082 as a whole. Along the beach, 32082 runs from the Duval County line, where A1A carries on north into Jacksonville Beach, to the southern end of South Ponte Vedra Boulevard, where A1A becomes Coastal Highway and the addresses change to St. Augustine 32084, the ZIP that also takes in Vilano Beach. We serve both neighbors: see home care in Jacksonville Beach and home care in St. Augustine. Post office boxes in Ponte Vedra Beach have a ZIP of their own, 32004, and box holders are covered too. Our office is inland at Nocatee Town Center; for the team, the services and how we work, start with home care across Ponte Vedra.
The Census Bureau’s 2020–2024 American Community Survey estimates describe an older place than the county around it. The median age in 32082 is 53.1, against 44.2 for St. Johns County. Nearly three in ten of its roughly 29,300 residents are 65 or older, 43.7% of households include someone that age, and in the Census area named Sawgrass, which takes in Sawgrass Country Club, the median age reaches 58.5. The number that matters most for home care in Ponte Vedra Beach is smaller: about 1,880 residents 65 and older live alone. For many of them the hardest hours come after dark, on the first night home after a fall or a new prescription, which is when overnight care puts someone awake in the house. During the day, hourly care covers the bathing, meals, laundry and errands of an ordinary week, a few hours at a time.

Coming Home From Baptist Beaches
For much of the beach side of 32082, the hospital is Baptist Medical Center Beaches, just over the county line at 1350 13th Avenue South in Jacksonville Beach. It is a 146-bed hospital and Primary Stroke Center that calls its emergency department “the only hospital-based, 24-hour emergency service at the beach.” In free-flowing traffic it is about 12 minutes’ drive from the 600 block of Ponte Vedra Boulevard and about 17 from Landrum Lane. Follow-up care can stay close to home: Baptist Primary Care Ponte Vedra is at 520 A1A North, and Brooks Outpatient at 816 North Highway A1A offers geriatric rehabilitation and balance and vestibular therapy.
Discharge can come with only a few hours’ notice, and the first days at home are when a family most needs a second pair of hands. Our hospital-to-home care puts someone in the house the day your parent comes back: prescriptions picked up on the way, meals that follow the discharge instructions, help in and out of the shower, and a ride to the first follow-up. For someone doing balance therapy at Brooks, mobility care means a steady arm from the car to the front door and around the house, and personal care covers the bathing and dressing that are hard to manage right after a hospital stay. If the doctor orders nursing or therapy visits at home, our caregivers cover the hours in between. We are a non-medical, private-pay agency: we accept long-term care insurance, ask for no deposit or long-term contract, and don’t bill Medicare or Medicaid. Care starts with a free in-home assessment and a written plan, and there is a registered nurse on our staff.
Services offered in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL
Live-In Care
Live-in care provides seniors with the consistency of having the same dedicated caregiver daily, allowing them to build trust and familiarity in their care routine. This arrangement enables seniors who need assistance with most activities of daily living to remain comfortably at home, maintaining their independence while receiving comprehensive support from their live-in caregiver.
Hourly Care
Hourly care provides flexible, scheduled support for seniors in their homes. Caregivers visit for set periods, offering assistance with daily tasks, personal care, and companionship tailored to the client's specific needs and preferences. This service can range from short shifts a few days a week to full 24/7 around-the-clock care, accommodating a wide spectrum of care requirements and ensuring seniors receive the right level of support.
Overnight Care
Overnight care offers peace of mind with an awake caregiver present during nighttime hours. This service ensures assistance is available for nighttime needs, emergencies, or early morning routines, allowing clients needs to be met overnight, enabling family members or daytime caregivers to have uninterrupted sleep.
Always On Virtual Care
Always On Virtual Care pairs our caregivers with Sensi, an AI-powered audio sensor that detects falls, distress, early UTI signs, and other care events around the clock. Sensi alerts our team the moment something changes — so families gain a second set of eyes during the hours a caregiver isn't physically in the room, and seniors stay safer at home for longer.
Storm Season on the Beach Side
Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, and the coast of 32082 has the record to show for it. When Hurricane Matthew passed offshore in 2016, the National Hurricane Center found that its surge pushed the Ponte Vedra Beach dune line back 30 to 40 feet and carved cliffs 12 to 16 feet high. In November 2022, St. Johns County records, Hurricane Nicole washed out A1A in South Ponte Vedra Beach and stranded residents who tried to evacuate. The county’s evacuation routes depend on where the house is: from Ponte Vedra Beach and Sawgrass, north on A1A and west on J. Turner Butler Boulevard to I-95; from the coast north of the Guana Dam, north on A1A and west over the Palm Valley Bridge on County Road 210; south of the dam, south on A1A and west over the Vilano Bridge. Zones are assigned address by address, so look up your parent’s on the county’s evacuation information page rather than going by the neighborhood.
Anyone who relies on oxygen or electrically powered medical equipment can pre-register for the county’s Special Medical Needs Shelter, online or at (904) 824-5550, but it has firm limits. It cannot support hospital beds, dialysis, ventilators, tracheostomies or Hoyer lifts, a caregiver has to come along, and shelter staff give no one-on-one care. Signing up for the state’s Special Needs Registry does not guarantee a shelter space either. All of that argues for settling the plan in June, not when a storm appears in the forecast. With live-in care, someone is already in the house when a watch is posted, gathering medications, chargers and paperwork, keeping meals and routines steady, and making it possible to leave early rather than at the last minute. For families who live out of town, extra hourly care shifts before and after a storm mean someone checks that the refrigerator is cold, the medications are dry and your parent is eating.
THE PLAYERS in March, the Senior Center All Year
THE PLAYERS Championship comes to TPC Sawgrass every March, with four tournament rounds on THE PLAYERS Stadium Course. WJCT has reported that the tournament draws more than 150,000 fans, citing the Florida Department of Transportation, that A1A is heaviest from about 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and that organizers point drivers to County Road 210 and Nocatee Parkway. For a parent who lives near Sawgrass, that means slow roads to every appointment and a caregiver who needs extra time to arrive. That week we schedule shift changes and doctor drives around the late-morning crush, and for someone with memory loss who is unsettled by crowds and noise, we keep the day at home as close to normal as we can.
The rest of the year, two Council on Aging programs sit right in 32082. THE PLAYERS Community Senior Center, run by the St. Johns County Council on Aging at 175 Landrum Lane, is open Tuesday through Friday with lunch, chair exercise, Tai Chi, bridge, bingo and a putting green, and it takes transportation requests. The Council’s Ponte Vedra Memory Care Center, at 1048 A1A North, runs its IMEP memory program in three- and five-hour sessions, the longer one with lunch. Getting a parent to either on a steady weekly rhythm is what companion care is for, and on the days in between, Alzheimer’s and dementia care at home keeps the same routines going. Vicar’s Landing, on Vicar’s Landing Way, offers independent living, assisted living, nursing care and memory care, and its nursing home holds the state’s Gold Seal, Florida’s top quality award for nursing homes, for 2024 through 2026; care at home can carry a family through the months of deciding whether a move like that is right.
